SEARCHING
The frost of this evening
arranges lacy ice crystals
against the window in my room.
The moonlight casts soft shadows
as I, half-asleep, drift off to
music playing on my stereo.
I see my escape as my body
becomes smaller and smaller,
and my soul slowly drifts aloft.
I'm a midnight traveler
moving somewhere across dreams,
or is it space & time?
Reaching for an answer that
rests beyond the horizon, yet
is much closer than vision allows.
DISCOVERING
I spot you in an inviting
glade surrounded by a
forest of church spires.
I find your golden body
glowing in rays of sunlight,
lips softly parted.
You lie in sweet smelling thyme,
stretching long limbs, flexing
sleek muscles.
Nature becomes you in sleep
as a soft breeze sweeps
through your bronze hair.
You stir ever so slightly as
my soul slowly nestles into
your arms.

ETERNAL SLEEP WE LIE
SEARCHING
The frost of this evening
arranges lace brocade
ice crystals in my window.
The moonlight dances
a ballet of shadows
across my bedroom walls.
My cold, naked body becomes
smaller and smaller as my
soul drifts slowly aloft.
I'm a midnight traveler, sneaking
out on some celestial trip across
space and time.
Reaching for an answer that rests
beyond the horizon, farther than
vision allows.
DISCOVERY
I look for you in the hills, spot
an inviting glade surrounded by
trees bathed in gold.
I find your golden body
in bright rays of sunlight,
pink lips softly parted.
You lie in a sea of green,
stretching long limbs
and flexing sleek muscles.
Nature becomes you in sleep,
as a soft breeze sweeps
through your bronze hair.
You stir ever so slightly
as my soul settles slowly down
to nestle in your arms.

Soul Searching By Rhonda Fisher (Poetshewrote)
See me dear friend..
a wounded, sanguine soul
who's traveled far to find
new life and love again.
Hear me, dear friend...
tell dusty road stories of
betrayed trust, broken
promises, and lonely nights.
Hold me, dear friend...
with strong, safe arms
until the screaming stops
and hidden tears flow.
Tell me, dear friend...
What will mend my broken heart?
When will God answer my prayers?
Will I find true love this time?
a wounded, sanguine soul
who's traveled far to find
new life and love again.
Hear me, dear friend...
tell dusty road stories of
betrayed trust, broken
promises, and lonely nights.
Hold me, dear friend...
with strong, safe arms
until the screaming stops
and hidden tears flow.
Tell me, dear friend...
What will mend my broken heart?
When will God answer my prayers?
Will I find true love this time?

Water Dance by Rhonda Fisher (Poetshewrote)
Coursing water,
sand spiraling
circling rocks
caught up in
whirlpool, swift
clockwise spin
surging in,
out of control
stirs us deeper
into warm
slipperry
water dance.

Child's Play by Rhonda Fisher (Poetshewrote)
Inside is
a forgotten child
yearning to laugh and play.
Come play with me...
We'll dance barefoot to Chopin
scamper through salty waves,
howl at late Summer moons,
roast marshmallows over open fires
Play pajama party games of
hide and seek under the covers,
toss pillows 'til the feathers fly.
Lonely one, come play with me...
a forgotten child
yearning to laugh and play.

scamper through salty waves,
howl at late Summer moons,
roast marshmallows over open fires
Play pajama party games of

toss pillows 'til the feathers fly.
Lonely one, come play with me...

IT'S BEEN FUN by Rhonda Fisher
Grasshopper...
come hop on over here.
I like your green legs
and ever so soft body.
Jump on my finger,
tickle my fancy,
keep me company
for a little while.
We'll eat a few leaves,
have a spitting contest
'till the cows come home.
Oh, Grasshopper...
it's been fun, but
you'll eat Mommy's
flowers, so bye bye
